1. A Family Christmas Night
Why: To remind you and your family of the most important part of the holiday season– each other! Bring everyone together for a manger building workshop, and find out how to use yours as a way to give to those in need. Bring along some candy, and we’ll provide all the gingerbread and icing necessary to build your very own gingerbread house. Speaking of gingerbread, are you good at baking? Then why not submit your best cookie to their annual Christmas Cookie Contest, for a chance at winning the Ultimate Christmas Cookie Award. Be the first to get your family in the spirit of the holiday season!

2. David Koz Christmas Tour
Why: David Koz, a Grammy nominated saxophonist, will be in Modesto this Christmas season. Come listen and enjoy as he plays alongside other talented musicians at the Gallo Center. Vibe to smooth jazz renditions of Christmas and Chanukah classics and your feet will start tapping along in no time.

3. A Christmas Fantasy Holiday Lights Tour
Why: The Christmas Fantasy holiday lights tour follows three different homes and their elaborate decorations. Get a guided tour of the homes (and one barn!) in the presence of good company Get inspired for the holidays, and feel good knowing that the proceeds benefit the community, by allowing the Garden Club to complete various civic projects throughout the year.

4. Holiday Wreath Workshop
Why: Buy reservations for this event for yourself or get it as a gift for a loved one— either way, this event should not be missed! Turn a blind eye to your devices for a day, and take a drive through California’s beautiful countryside, for an engaging, two hour class on wreath-crafting. Come with friends, family, or a loved one and spend time talking and reminiscing while you craft a personalized wreath, while sipping on a mug full of their delicious, hot apple cider.

5. Santacon Modesto
Why: Do you have an irresistible urge to wear a red, velvety suit and white beard? If so, then Santacon Modesto is the perfect event for you. Dress up in your favorite Santa outfit and come hungry and thirsty. The event starts at the Bayou Bar and Grill but continues on from there. You’ll have a blast at Santacon—just make sure not to get lost in the sea of Santas!

(BONUS): Home Depot’s Block Calendar Workshop
Why: This is a great event for all ages and is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Home Depot invites parents and children alike to their seasonal Block Calendar workshop, where participants will be given everything they’ll need to create a wooden block calendar for their desk at home! Once completed, your child will be given trays of paint and stickers to decorate with, along with a “ FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin.” So why not end the holiday season right, with a project that’s sure to get you organized for the year ahead!
